Wade Whimsies first appeared in 1953 they initially came in boxes of four and five in a set. Then they were made as promotional premiums given away with various products such as Red Rose Tea USA and Red Rose Tea Canada, Sharps Chocolate and Tom Smith Party Crackers, .
There are several hundred of these little figurines in dozens of different sets. They include dogs, cats, birds, snow animals, pets, wildlife, farm animals, dinosaurs, nursery rhyme figures, circus figures, miniature houses, leprechauns, monks and Disney animals. And a Noah’s ark series. There are also variations that show up from the molds being retooled now and then also color variations Whimsies are under two inches in size, so you can put a lot of them in small wall boxes, old printers type drawers hung on the wall or little shelves. Oh and they are also very affordable.
