Vintage Collectible Hany Oil Cans

Added some tin Handy Oil cans to the shop. There are many different cans available and make a nice collection. Many were put out by the oil companies, Esso, Gulf, Texaco etc. Some are pre-priced and are interesting to see how the same item has changed price over the years. Most are plastic bottles or containers now a days. Most of the eariler ones had a lead spout, then they changed to a plastic spout. Not a big space taker either, and are somewhat available if you look. Especially at garage sales and estate sales, lots of neat stuff lurks in basements and garages. Another interesting collectible along this line is vintage lighter fluid cans.

I know I haven’t been around here for a while, just not enough hours in the day. Doing the flea markets, yard sales plus keeping the shop running is a full time job. Antique Omega Oil Bottle
Antique bottle ‘Omega Oil’. Aqua, cloudy, 3-3/8 inches tall. No chips or cracks.

Antique Vapo - Cresolene Bottle. Poison
Antique Vapo - Cresolene bottle with the raised diamond bumps indicating it is a poison bottle. Pat’d U.S. June 15 - 95 Eng. July 23 - 94. Bottle is 4 inches tall, cloudy, very tiny chip on lip.

Antique Chamberlain’s Hand Lotion Bottle
Vintage Chamberlain’s Hand Lotion bottle Alcohol 49%. bottle is 2-3/4 inches tall. Nice condition. No chips or cracks.

Vintage pair of cat salt and pepper shakers, pinkish color with green bows, approx. 2-7/8 inches tall. Made in Japan paper sticker. Nice condition.

Little Black Boy on the Toilet Salt and Pepper, Negro
Vintage salt and pepper shaker set, little black boy on the toilet. Total height is about 5-1/4 inches. Marked Japan. Nice condition, couple of little specks of paint missing. Great addition to your Black Americana or salt and pepper collection.

Deer, Fawns Salt and Pepper Shakers
Neat little set of deer or fawns salt and pepper shakers, big eyes and bigger ears. Pink flowers, gold trim. Marked Chase, Hand Painted, Made in Japan paper labels. About 2-3/4 in. tall. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Still digging into the salt and pepper shaker pile. A few more neat sets added to the shop.

Vintage Hawaiian Salt and Pepper Shakers
A great vintage set of Hawaiian salt and pepper shakers. Set consists of a man with paddle and girl playing a ukulele sitting in a canoe. The canoe is approxx. 6 inches in length. All pieces are marked Made in Japan. There is a very small chip on the man’s hat brim. Very neat collectible salt and pepper set.

Planters Mr. Peanut Salt and Pepper Shakers
A vintage pair of Planters Mr. Peanut salt and pepper shakers. Red plastic, about 3-1/8 inches tall.

Van Tellingen Dutch Boy and Girl Hugging Salt and Pepper
A set of Van Tellingen Dutch Boy & Girl hugging salt and pepper shakers. They are approx. 3-1/2 inches tall. Marked Van Tellingen, 1950’s era. No chips or cracks.

Vintage Television Salt and Pepper Shakers
A neat 1960’s vintage television salt / pepper shaker set. Ivory and gold colored. Twist the knob and shakers pop up from the top. 3 inches high and 3-1/2 inches wide.

Pair of wooden men salt and pepper shakers. One wearing a white jacket and hat the other is wearing red. Made in Japan paper labels. About 4 inches tall. Nice condition.

BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers
Vintage 1958 BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers. The grill is plastic with a space under the grill. It is 4-7/8 inches tall and marked 1958, Rubicon, USA. The shakers are glass and have chef’s hat tops. Very nice condition.

1950’s Mixer Salt and Pepper Shakers
Vintage 1950’s black and white mixer Salt and Pepper shakers. The mixer looks like the old Sunbeam Mixer. The beaters are the shakers, mixer head tilts up, includes the plastic bowl. Marked Pat. Pending.

Been slacking off a bit on the blogs due to a return to chemo treatments (a definate energy zapper) plus being flea market weather, I goota be ther a couple of days a week, it’s in the bones.

Bought a salt and pepper collection recently, about 150+ sets, slowly looking into the boxes listing a few here and there.

Spoon and Fork Salt, Pepper Shakers
A neat set of anthropomorphic spoon and fork salt, pepper shakers (1950’s). Look to be a brown glazed, red earthenware, 4-1/2 inches tall. Blue and white Japan paper label. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Tree Stump Salt and Pepper Shakers
Vintage set of tree stump salt and pepper shakers, green with browns. shaker holes on the back. Approx. 1-1/4 by 2-3/4, has a clover like mark with Japan. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Lots of frogs added to the shop a week or so ago. Have been running into a lot of neat little animal figrines lately and just gotta buy’em. So if you frog collection is a little light here’s some frog stuff.

A neat ceramic frog watering pitcher, yellow and white. Has brown eyes. Approx. 4-3/4 inches tall. Unmarked, nice condition. Great addition to your frog collection.

Four little plastic frog guys with white hats and rolly eyes. About 2 inches tall.

Pottery Planter with a Frog
Small pottery planter with a frog, yellow and green. Planter is about 5 in. long and 3-1/2 inches high. Unmarked, nice condition. Has a very small under the glaze chip in the making.

Nice crystal frog figurine made by J.G. Durand, France. Frog is about 3-3/4 inches tall, has Durand sticker and signature etched on base. Nice condition, no chips or cracks. Nicer than the photo, was picking up reflections from surrounding area.

Police Patches added to shop

Picked up a bunch of police patches on Sunday, added a few to the shop and have about 30 more to add during the week.

Hey, a neat small colorful collectible that doesn’t take a lot of space and there are probably thousands of different one that you can collect by state or worldwide if you like. I haven’t really gotten into it yet but Fire Department and EMS patches are another way to branch out. Then of course there are military patches also.
