VINTAGE TIN NOISEMAKERS

Various American companies created tin noisemakers, such as T.Cohn, Chein, and Bugle Toy. One of the most recognizable manufacturer’s is Kirchhof, a company that created toys in Newark, New Jersey. Kirchhof manufactured tin noisemakers in the early part of the 1900’s. These early noisemakers were made from tin and came complete with handles made from sculpted wood.The Made in Japan noisemakers from the 1950’s had plastic handles,as did later versions of these noise makers.
Don’t know why but I’ve always had a thing for the early ones. Back when lots of neat stuff showed up around the flea markets I had a pretty big collection of them, but that was years ago, which has since been dispersed. But still pick them up when I see them.

A few neat items that seem to have gotten lost in the dark corners of the shop.

Tasco Pocket Arithmometer Adding Calulating Machine
Vintage mid-century 1940’s Tasco Pocket Arithmometer adding machine with original instructions, stylus and original case. Case doesn’t snap closed. Device works fine and numbers slide easily. Shows some light surface wear. Measures just over 5 inches tall.

Old Porcelain, No Trespassing Sign,William J. Burns /
Vintage porcelain / enamel sign, Warning No Trespassing / Protected by the / William J. Burns / International Detective Agency Inc. - - - - - - - - - - - etc. Dark blue with white lettering. Has P-60131 top right corner. Sign has slight bend to it, may have been mounted on curved surface. Some rust around mounting holes and chipped enamel along edges. 6 x 8 inches in size.

National Biscuit Company Store Box Display Lid
Vintage advertising store display lid for National Biscuit Company biscuit boxes. Original glass and advertising, brushed gold finish on the tin frameSize: 10 1/2 square, 2 tall. Glass is 8 3/4 x 7 3/4, green section is 9 by 1 1/4. The lid is hinged. Condition is great.

Santa with Sack Ramp Walker, Marx
Vintage Santa with sack ramp walker. Yellow sack full of goodies variation. Made in Hong Kong for Marx. Nice condition.

Peter O’Toole Printing Plate
A vintage printing plate of Peter O’Toole used by the newspapers in days gone by. It is a metal plate that image is etched into. Approx. 1-3/4 x 3 in size. Also newpaper photo made from it. 1970’s Condition is good.

Porcelain Infant Feeder, Unmarked
Antique porcelain infant or invalid feeder, about 5-3/4 inches long. Unmarked. Nice condition, no chips or cracks

Figured I’d get ahead for a change and add some vintage Christmas items to the shop early.

Elf Jumping Over Mushroom Figurine
Neat vintage ceramic elf jumping over a mushroom figurine. Has hole behind the elf mayby to hold a flower. About 5-1/4 inches tall. Nice condition, no breaks or cracks. Slight paint loss due to age. not marked probably had a Japan sticker. Most of these figures were cold painted and wear easy.

Vintage ceramic choir boy figurine, large head, small body. About 5-1/2 inches tall. Slight paint loss due to age. not marked probably had a Japan sticker. Most of these figures were cold painted and wear easy.

Celluloid Occupied Japan Reindeer Figurine
Celluloid Occupied Japan reindeer figurine. Stands about 4 inches tall. Marked Made in Occupied Japan. Nice condition, no breaks.

Vintage Plastic Fawn Figurines
A pair of vintage plastic fawn figurines (Bambis). The standind one is about 4-3/4 to tip of ear. Unmarked, slight wear on the paint from age. Looks like 1950’s era.

Three Ceramic Christmas Angel Figurines
Three little ceramic Christmas angels approx. 3-1/4 inches tall. marked Japan. Have a simulated spaghetti like trim. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Santa Claus Bank, Spaghetti Ware Trim
Ceramic Santa Claus bank with spaghetti ware trim. Approx 6 inches tall. Has sticker ‘Santa International, Made in Japan’. condition is nice, going to say the spaghetti trim is 99%.

Three Felt Knee Huggers, Pixies
Three little felt knee huggers or pixies, two smaller one large. The large one about 6 1/2 inches has a Made in Japan tag. They are a bit faded from age but still neat.

Elf Figurine Climbing Out of Chimney
Vintage ceramic Santa Claus’s helper elf climbing out of chimney with bag of goodies. Has spaghetti trim and marked S981E (I believe it is NAPCO0. About 3-3/4 inches tall. Slight paint loss due to age. Most of these figures were cold painted and wear easy. Price includes USA shipping.

Haven’t been around for a while, four out of the last six weeks in the hospital. Hopefully that stuff is over.

Was digging through a box of my Halloween things and decided to weed out a little, not much but a little. Some stuff ya just don’t part with.
Halloween and old Santa Clauses top the list, next comes penguins.

Vintage paper cone witches hat, Orange with black witch on broom, owl, Jack-o-Lanterns, black cat, devil decorations. About 11-1/2 inches across bottom. Made in Japan. Paper is a bit brittle, I would frame it.

A few nice pieces of glassware recently added to the shop.

Old Pressed / Pattern Glass Water Pitcher
Vintage pressed glass water pitcher, don’t know the pattern at the moment. Sawtooth top edge. Approx. 7-1/8 to the highest point. Nice condition.

Vintage Pattern Glass Spooner / Celery
Nice vintage glass spooner / celery with two handles and panel pattern and scalloped rim. Octagon base.Approx. 5-3/4 inches tall. Nice condition.

Fostoria Heirloom Pink Center Bowl
A nice oblong pink opalescent centerpiece bowl, made by the Fostoria Glass Co. in the Heirloom pattern. The bowl is approx. 12 x 7-1/2 x 4-1/4 in size. (1959-1970). Nice condition,no problems.

Bulbous Amber Gold Glass Vase, Fluted Top
