Frogs & Frogs

Lots of frogs added to the shop a week or so ago. Have been running into a lot of neat little animal figrines lately and just gotta buy’em. So if you frog collection is a little light here’s some frog stuff.

Ceramic Frog Watering Pitcher
A neat ceramic frog watering pitcher, yellow and white. Has brown eyes. Approx. 4-3/4 inches tall. Unmarked, nice condition. Great addition to your frog collection.

Ceramic Smiling Frog Figure - Figurine
Decorative ceramic smiling frog figure, approx. 3-3/4 inches tall. Marked Atlantic Mold. Nice addition to your frog collection.

Four Little Frogs with Hats
Four little plastic frog guys with white hats and rolly eyes. About 2 inches tall.

Pottery Planter with a Frog
Small pottery planter with a frog, yellow and green. Planter is about 5 in. long and 3-1/2 inches high. Unmarked, nice condition. Has a very small under the glaze chip in the making.

Pottery Sitting Frog Figure - Figurine
A nice green glazed pottery frog figure to add to your frog collection. He is approx. 6 inches long, nice condition.

Vintage Syroco Wood Frog, Syrocco
Vintage Syroco / SyroccoWood frog signed Red Mill. He is about 3 inches tall, nice condition.

J.G. Durand Crystal Frog/a>
Nice crystal frog figurine made by J.G. Durand, France. Frog is about 3-3/4 inches tall, has Durand sticker and signature etched on base. Nice condition, no chips or cracks. Nicer than the photo, was picking up reflections from surrounding area.

Decorative Brass Frog
Neat brass frog with mouth open, approx. 5 x 6 x 2 inches in size. Looks great in the garden or just hanging around the house.

Police Patches added to shop

Picked up a bunch of police patches on Sunday, added a few to the shop and have about 30 more to add during the week.

Hey, a neat small colorful collectible that doesn’t take a lot of space and there are probably thousands of different one that you can collect by state or worldwide if you like. I haven’t really gotten into it yet but Fire Department and EMS patches are another way to branch out. Then of course there are military patches also.

Vintage Animal Snapshots / Snap Shots / Photos

Just a bunch of neat snapshots / snap shots (which is the correct spelling?) I added to the shop. Have noticed around the flea markets there are more people looking through and buying old shapshots etc. Also seem to have buyers for vintage wedding pictures, I guess for the gowns.

Antique Kitchenware, Antique Scales, Graniteware, Collectible Stuff

Added some neat stuff to the shop this week, a couple of antique bean splitters, raisin seeder, other kitchen collectibles and a couple of antique scales.

Enamelware Blue and White Colander
Nice vintage mottled enamelware blue and white colander, approx. 9-1/2 in. diameter excluding handles, and 3-1/2 inches high. Has some chipped enamel on bottom and around rim. Great addition to your country kitchenware collection.

Vintage tin cookie cutter in the shape of an cow. Approx. 3-5/8 ins. long. Average used condition. Nice addition to your vintage kitchen collection.

Antique wood handled kitchen food chopper, blade is approx. 6 inches across. Great addition to your antique kitchenware display.

Antique Bean Frencher, Bean Slicer, Germany
Nice antique German bean slicer or bean frencher with octagon shaped hopper, early 1900’s. Cast iron with nice ornate design. Has wooden handle on the crank handle. Marked ‘Gesetzlich Geschutzt’ on side which basically means Patented or Protected. Works smoothly. About 7-1/2 in. long. A great addition to your antique kitchenware collection.

Antique Ornate German Bean Slicer or Bean Frencher
Ornate antique German bean slicer or bean frencher with rectangle shaped hopper. The slicer is cast iron with nice decorative design. Has wooden handle on the crank handle. Marked ‘Gesetzlich Geschutzt’ on side which basically means Patented or Protected. Early 1900’s. Works smoothly. About 7-1/2 in. long. A great addition to your antique kitchenware collection.

Antique X-Ray Raisin Seeder
Neat cast iron X-Ray Raisin Seeder 1890’s - early 1900’s. Cast iron body clamps on to table. Has X-Ray Raisin Seeder - The One That Seeds on side of hopper. About 7-1/2 in. long. A great addition to your antique kitchenware collection. See article from the St. John Daily Sun Nov 21, 1896.

Antique Fairbanks Balance Beam Powder Scale
An antique Fairbanks balance beam powder scale for reloading etc. Has original Fairbanks decal. 480 gr. capacity. Leveling bubble is intact. Needs some cleaning up, haven’t gotten to it yet.

Antique Steelyard Scale
Antique steelyard scale, approx. 16-1/2 inches long. Has a 12 lb. and 50 lb. capacity. Interesting looking hooks with tapered weight.

This has been hanging around for about a year and I finally tracked down what it was:

Vintage Plumber’s Tap Borer
A vintage plumber’s tap borer, a hand tool used by plumbers for boring tapered holes in a lead pipe when making a connection to it. Heavy steel blade with nice wood handle. Marked Wm., Johnson, Newark, NJ on the tang. Handle is approx. 3-3/4 in. long. Wm. Johnson operated the Hedenberg Works, Newark, NJ in the early 1900’s.

Vintage Maqgazine Ads, Old Road Maps, Collectible Stuff

While digging through another box of stuff I came upon some vintage magazine ads and a few old road maps. So we added them to the shop. All thats need is a few frames and presto, pictures for the wall.

Vintage Beer Cans 1970’s - 80’s

Found another box of vintage beer cans in my storage unit that were from a collection I bought a few years back, thought I got them all out last year. A mixture of pull-tabs and flat tops. most are steel sided and bottom opened, a few aluminum cans. Most are late 1970’s and 1980’s era.
Some of the names are Star Beer, Hu-Dey Beer, Primo Beer, Hop’n-Gater Beer, North Star Beer, Walter’s Beer, Our Beer, Garden State Beer etc.

Vintage Spice Tins & Boxes

A week or so ago I bought a bunch of vintage spice tins and a few earlier spice boxes. Most are from the 1950’s -60’s era, with no zip codes. The cardboard boxes I believe are 1930’s or 40’s. Also got some with the zip codes which are still nice.

Great way to brighten up the kitchen, add a few small shelves and stack them up. Still looking for a little info on dating them more accurately.

Neat Salt and Peppers, Souvenirs, Egg Cups etc.

A few new additions to the shop that we got at auction on Saturday. Also a bunch more we are adding to the shop over the week. All nice little stuff to add to your collections.

Tucumcari, N.M. Souvenir Bathtub
Vintage opalescent glass souvenir bathtub from “Round Up / Tucumcari, N.M.”. Approx. 2-3/8 x 5-3/8 x 2-1/4 inches in size. 1920’s era. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Denver, Colo. Souvenir Coal Bucket
Vintage opalescent glass coal scuttle or bucket souvenir from “Souvenir of Denver, Colo.”. Also has wire bail handle. 1920’s era. Approx 4 inches in length and 3-1/2 in. high. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Opalex Egg Cup, France, Opalescent Glass
Vintage Opalex, opalescent glass chicken egg with black painted eyes and yellow beak. Has a little paint missing on the beak. Opalex, Made in France molded into the bottom of the cup. Nice addition to your egg cup collection. Nice condition, no chips or cracks. Price includes USA shipping.

Lady’s Face Egg Cup
Porcelain egg cup with lady’s face on the front. Approx. 2-3/4 inches tall. Unmarked. Nice addition to your egg cup collection.

Deco Milk Glass Spice Jar / Bottle
Vintage milk glass condiment jar or spice jar. The jar is 4 1/4 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches square. Three sides of the jar have raised vertical panels in an art deco style. The front has a blank space for a label. The screw top is red has some wear to the paint. Not marked but probably made by Griffith’s. 1930′ - 50’s era.

Vintage pair of Indian chief and squaw porcelain salt & pepper shakers. They are approx. 3 inches tall, marked Japan. No chips or cracks, little paint loss. Nice addition to your salt and pepper collection.

Sunny Side Up Salt and Pepper Shakers
Novelty sunny side up eggs salt and pepper shaker set. The yokes are the shakers. About 4 x 5-3/4 inches, Made in Hong Kong. 1970’s era. Nice addition to your salt and pepper collection.

Venus De Milo Salt & Pepper Shakers
Vintage hard molded plastic Venus De Milo set of salt & pepper shakers with original cork stoppers. 1950’s era. Approx. 4 in. tall. Overall in very good condition. Nice addition to your salt and pepper collection.

Wooden Outhouse Salt and Pepper
Set of wooden “MA” and “PA” outhouse salt and pepper shakers. They measure 2″ tall x 1 5/8″ wide. Nice addition to your salt and pepper collection. Price includes USA shipping.

Vintage Safety Razors, Gillette, Gem and Others

We added some neat collectible safety razors in cases, boxes etc. to the shop. Plus other razors, vintage blades etc.

Brownie Gillette Old Type Safety Razor
Vintage Brownie Gillette ‘Old Type’ three piece safety razor with serial number P290056 on lower plate, dates it to 1921. Razor is in a brown imitation leather case (hence the name Brownie). 1904 patent date on handle. Originally used three hole blade (two included) but regular double edge blades fit. Razor in very nice used condition, outside edges of case has some damage on back edge.

Gillette Old Type Safety Razor 1919
Vintage Gillette ‘Old Type’ three piece safety razor with serial number J15146 on lower plate, dates it to 1919. Razor is in a black imitation leather case. 1904 patent date on handle. Originally used three hole blade (two included) but regular double edge blades fit. Razor in very nice used condition.

Ever-Ready Safety Razor, Nickel Plated Case
Vintage Ever-Ready safety razor in nickel plated case. Razor ia flip-top type, uses regular single edge blades. Razor marked Ever-Ready, Bklyn.N.Y. U.S.A. Pat. appl’d For inside. One original Ever-Ready blade included. Razor in nice condition, case average condition.

Christy Safety Razor, Original Box
Vintage Christy safety razor, all silver colored metal, long slender handle in original box. ‘Christy Safety Razor / Light as a Feather’. Razor is marked ‘Christy’. Patent on July 22, 1924, by R. J. Christy. The razor 4 in length, with a head width of 1 1/2. Comes with one single edge blade. Uses same blade as the Enders razor.

Adelene Safety Razor, Oatman’s Hardware
Vintage Adelene safety razor in box advertising ‘Oatman’s Hardware, Medina, Ohio. Printing is faded. Early 1900’s era. Adelene was made by Hode’s - Hyman Specialty Co. Fremont, Ohio. Seems like a Valet blade fits. Nice addition to your vintage razor or advertising collection.

German Safety Razor in Pocket Case
Older German safety razor in travel case. Razor is the early three stud type with open comb. Handle comes apart and one piece fits inside the other. Razor marked ‘Germany’. Uses regular double edge blades. Case marked ‘Germany’ near hinge. Nice used condition.

Gem Junior Safety Razor + Black Case
Vintage Gem Junior safety razor in black imitation leather case, blue interior. Razor has chain link style handle, marked ‘Gem Junior’ on back of head, ‘Gem , Brooklyn, New York’ inside. Pat 1912 where handle screws in. Uses regular single edge blades. Also has razor holder.

Gem Single Edge Safety Razor + Case
Vintage Gem safety razor in green imitation alligator skin case. Razor is in great condition, marked ‘Gem Junior’ on back of head, ‘Gem , Brooklyn, New York’ inside. Pat 1912 where handle screws in. Uses regular single edge blades. Case is a bit rough.

Durham Duplex ‘T’ Type Razor + Case
A Durham Duplex ‘T’ type safety razor in imitation leather case. Durham Duplex No. 6 Set $1.50 paper label inside lid. Razor uses Durham Duplex double edge blades. Durham Duplex Razor Co., Jersay City, New Jersey. Looks like it was never used.
